Pros

Great Company wide training. For a young up&coming professional, it is a great Company / School to start with. Great Benefits - Periodic Table "Metaphor" at BASF Mexicana. Great Work/Life Balance ; Flexible Hours & Schedule Fantastic Office Environment / Facilities in Mexico City. Able to Relocate Professionally around World / Region

Cons

Highly Competitive Environment. Best in Class Global Practices for Talent Management. Mergers & Acquisitions put a strain on employees as HR Methodologies place ALL Employees (including former BASF & Newly Acquired Venture ones) in a Competition for a future spot on the Company. Don't be surprised if you are edged out by another "new" fellow employee from another division merger or acquisition. Progression internationally is tightly controlled by Central HR in Germany, and updated quite regularly. For North America, The Talent Management Program utilized Best in Class Methodologies from Lominger International, a Korn Ferry Company. Future senior leaders or more commonly known as Executive Candidates for Global Positions by BASF SE such as Senior Vice-Presidents & Global / Regional Presidents (Level 2 & Level 3 in BASF SE Terminology around 180 positions globally - in 2015) as well as Local & Regional VicePresidents (Level 4 around 500 positions globally. in 2015) and Senior Directors (Level 5 around 2,500 positions globally in 2015) are sourced from a Global Pool of Executive Candidates - over 5,000 globally from all over the BASF World). A decade ago, perhaps over 90% of SVPs & VPs were of German origin, however, BASF SE has made great strides in Diversity, Equality & Inclusion in all regions around the World. Don´t Expect to come back to your Home Country if you are selected as a global executive candidate.
