Pros

Safety stressed rigorously. All appropriate gear and supplies provided. Training and support was always there when needed. Chances for advancement.

Cons

Sometimes brutal temperature extremes, coupled with very physically demanding work. Some production equipment in need of repair or replacement. Long hours, and a strange shift rotation that can lead to a jet lag type of situation.

Thank you for your post. During the interview process we provide a tour of the facility and set expectations. We do, however, appreciate the inconvenience the temperatures cause and do all that we can to mitigate the heat or the cold by providing extra breaks, fans, as well as free bottled water, Gatorade packets, etc.. With regard to the shifts - our employees are either on a night, or a day shift. If you have a concern, please talk to your manager or your HR representative.

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Great co-workers. I learn something new everyday. My supervisor is a very good and decent person as well.

Cons

Certain supervisors are given latitude to bully employees. Despite calling the Corporate Hot Line nothing is ever done to the bully. There is talk of changing the pay structure for Non-Exempt Salaried employees. The word is that it won't be to our advantage. Training sucks as well. Nothing really tangible pertaining to our job just a bunch of brainwashing. The good training is reserved for suck ups.

Thanks for your post. We are glad you are learning, have great coworkers and a good working relationship with your supervisor. We would like to address the three points you bringing up as Cons: 1) The supervisor you describe as “bully”: be advised that a thorough investigation was conducted and there were no findings of bullying. 2) The pay structure for the Non-exempt employees: be advised that the work rules for will not change. 3) Our employees own their education and training, and we offer many options to support them. We encourage you to talk to your colleagues who are now pursuing degrees fully sponsored by BASF. We also offer a myriad of on-line and instructor-led courses. Please talk to your manager or HR representative who will help you take advantage of these programs and courses if you wish to do so.
