Pros

The benefits package for health was very cheap per paycheck. They do train you well for the basics of your job. Upper management (CEO level) are qualified and handle the current crisis well, so far.

Cons

In Florida the managers very rarely work a 40 hour work week. Any position under branch leader will be required to do alot of tele-marketing and client calling. The goals are impossible to meet unless located at the busiest of branches. They do not want smart and talented employees, rather people who are satisfied and will stay in current position. The LDP will only accept people who know other high up or who go to Wake Forest(where BB&T donated a ton of money). The training is designed to say certain lines word for word...which is robotic and out of touch. Too many cheerleaders for conference calls and not enough real work, usually overstaffed as well.

Pros

Above average benefits: eg, vacation time, 401k match. Commitment to doing it the right way. Conservative financial positioning. Largely hands-off approach in management of subsidiaries.

Cons

Large bureaucracy means more red tape.
