Pros

The Company has good Compensation Benefits. Also, it has relatively good salary (with respect to other commercial banks).

Cons

There are very few oppurtunies to increase your value. Management class does not give importance to lower title workers. Works are being done in re-active way, not pro-active.

Pros

Due to mix between Spanish, Latino and American cultures in the office (NY office), overall environment was somewhat more relaxed and not very uptight or strict. Easy going. Generally, friendly faces.

Cons

Compensation tends to be below market standard (at least in NY and in CIB). Slow professional development, no clear career paths. Does not use 3 year promotions used at other IB banks for analysts, associates, etc. Management doesn't seem to know what to do with the bank... In my two years there were constant rumors of restructuring and layoffs. From the looks of it, the bank is always restructuring. Also, little effort put into retaining younger talent. There was an inverted pyramid structure in many of the teams.

Pros

Very large multinational company, potential to move to other companies.

Cons

Staff treated poorly. Southern European management style totally inappropriate in UK. Untrustworthy. Disloyal. Little opportunity.
