Pros

Company tries very hard to do what's right in terms of ethics. Good work-life balance. Nice campus. Good lunch at reasonable prices. People are for the most part very nice. You can make good friends here. You are working to help people live a more healthy life.

Cons

This is the most passive-aggressive place you will ever see unfortunately. There is absolutely no leadership. Plenty of management but that means nothing. People communicate via IM but don't want to meet face to face. People shake their heads Yes in a meeting and then do nothing. There are NO consequences for failure here. NEVER say anything bad to anyone. Always smile and pretend all is well and you will live happily ever after here. Being truthful is NOT appreciated in this culture. Working in the business is better than working in Corporate. This is a NO RISK company. They let good technologies pass them by because no one wants to take on risk. The approval process for anything takes forever and is unbelievably cumbersome. HR thinks they are a policy making body. IT thinks they know better than the business as to what is needed. No one in the business has the guts to tell IT they have it all backwards as truth is not seen as positive here. I've worked in Corporate IT and in the business. The place is upside down but if you don't care you will fit right in. Consultants, as others have said, are treated like 3rd class citizens.

Pros

Very good benefits for Director level and above (exclusive club). Lower cost for health insurance than employees below Director level. Tax avoidance (deferred compensation) plan. Savings plan with above market interest rate.

Cons

The plastic chemical particles are very high in the air within the buildings. The factory is in building D, so both buildings C and D have air with microplastics. This was determined to be the cause of my lung cancer.

Work life balance is horrible.

Pros

We still get a paycheck.

Cons

Currently writing this as I sit here working on Christmas morning while my co-workers are enjoying time with their families. Did I mention I'm supposed to be on PTO? Work from home means work all the time. Coworkers expect you to be at their beckon call 24 x 7 x 365. Forget eating dinner with the family. Sleep with your phone more than your spouse. Don't mentioned work/life balance to your boss. He'll just tell you he has less of it than you do. (And that is probably true) If you like working with people who will ignore processes and are too lazy to learn how to do things for themselves, this is the place for you. If you enjoy being told your 14+ hour days are not going to cut it, this job is for you. If you enjoy having directors and VP's that go home after they hand you 3-4 hours of work they need by tomorrow morning to send to the Senior VP (with their own names on it of course), this is the job for you. Analysis paralysis? Yes we have it. Currently 7 meetings a week to discuss how to be more productive. That is amazing. Perhaps 14 would double productivity? Oh and we have a team of highly educated folks that are supposed to work out how to make things better. They just have meetings but never have to spend time listening to all the customer complaints about the processes that team puts in place. What a great job. Wish I had that one. This is hands down the most horrible place to work. Here of some signs. Upper management does not understand basic job functions and processes that have been in place for 10+ years. When the underlings try to explain those processes, they are belittled for being so stupid as to believe that those processes are correct. Cultural surveys are sent to all employees that are anonymous but then at the deadline a list of names that have not taken the survey is circulated so managers can make sure those folks take them. It makes it hard for folks to tell the truth. An of course they only talk about the positive comments that were made by new employees who have not been brow beat for years. This company continues to create ridiculous positions that do nothing but create more work for others. Any little issue that is lifted up must be communicated to multiple groups in the organization just in case they want to know and oh by the way most of them enjoy every evening and weekend off. Why? Because I'm always working!! Don't get me started on the customers. Why even have processes? No one follows processes and because of this every customer just whines and complains and does everything but call the right person. We made this even worse recently by creating a phone system where no one has call back numbers. The only number customers have it my cell phone which rings at all hours of the night and day . Then internally everyone complains that my team and others like it are not responsive. How can we be if we are called hours, days, or weeks later?
