Pros

I joined because BECU is a Purpose & Values driven organization. The compensation packages are fair, but not great. The benefits are excellent. I am excited about the future with our new CEO, Vision, and Strategy. We're not a perfect organization, but I see the organization moving in a positive direction. LOTS of internal mobility & promotions from within.

Cons

There's been a lack of balance between people first and business first. Have had a heavy focus on people, namely employees, and a lack of focus to make difficult decisions to drive & grow our business to support our members. Need to focus on and make time for talent development. Can be difficult being a new leader to set expectations that seem standard in other organizations or in alignment with industry standards, but are seen as "raising the bar" for performance.
