Pros
The fact that BMO has been around for 100 plus years is an indication of its stability. Although there are limited opportunities to advance, there are plenty of opportunities to move laterally and gain some different experiences. I believe that at the core the culture is one that is supportive of a work life balance, however not all managers practice that culture.
Cons
for a younger person, when you reach a certain position you need to wait for someone to die before you have a chance to move up the food chain. Recent changes to dissincent people from retiring early is yet another example of how BMO HR takes the punitive approach.
