      It is a classless organization run by greedy executives

      It is better than being unemployed

      Cons

      Low pay. Propaganda constantly spewed by senior management. Management talks a big game about telecommuting and other benefits but it is next to impossible to get them to allow it. Over my 9 year career at BNYM the company has gotten worse each and every year for 5 straight years. Promotions occur without much (sometimes no) increase in pay. Benefits have been reduced drastically, and "cost of living increases" are less than 2% each of the past 5 years, meanwhile executives of the company talk about the difficult economic environment while collecting record bonus figures and the company is buying back more than a BILLION dollars in company stock each year. It is a classless organization

      Extremely low pay compared to market Constant threats of layoffs (including having other companies tour and give bids of your office space while you are working) You WILL work more than 40 hours a week with no OT No upward mobility Poor company culture Rampid low employee morale Crazy hierarchy where you have multiple bosses
