      Pros

      Good company, bad pay. Lots of overtime. The people are very friendly, and they train their employees well. However, you can make more at Goldman Sachs.

      Cons

      Employees are underpaid and it is very hard to become promoted at BNY Mellon. Senior management, however, does invest in training it's people.

      Nice enviroment. Good benefits Opportunities to progress Changing to become best in class

      Cons

      Performance management an issue no-one ever fails probation, gets disciplined for poor performance. Raises either due to service length or promotion are capped at a percentage of old salary. Consequently your career pay is dictated by how you performed for 2 hours years ago. Many layers of beaucracy. One person does the work and oftentimes as many as 5 people check it despite having little knowledge of the subject matter and hence adding little value.

      Good diversity of work and people. People are generally willing to help if one is willing to ask. Good for learning.

      Cons

      A bank with a long history. Many policies and system. Very challenging if one wants to get things done fast. Systems can also be very troublesome to deal with.
