low chance of layoffs... free parking

Cons

The salaries for petroleum engineers is 50% less than typical oil and gas companies' salaries. Promotions are rare.... Software used by industry e.g. Eclipse, Kappa, Fekete, Petroleum Experts,... are not used by BSEE.
