I wasn’t fully aware of how much the Regulatory Services group had changed since I first joined. The team dynamic has shifted significantly due to changes in management. There seems to be a recurring theme among the SDMs following the initial round of layoffs earlier this year: highly competent employees are often rewarded with additional work. The focus of the role has also shifted. It used to be primarily about delivering billable days and ensuring client satisfaction, but now it includes a substantial number of special projects that not everyone is fully aligned with. Additionally, there is a sense that people are hesitant to speak up due to fear of retaliation. For someone starting their professional career, this is a good place to gain experience for about 2 years. However, career growth tends to plateau after that, and long-term trajectory may be limited.

Poor management and processes all over which then impacts culture. It’s slower than the public sector. No strategy set up other than a focus on sustainable. As this isn’t a listed company, it doesn’t matter to them and clients will always need standards. No accountability, no poor performance addressed. Overall quite mediocre like their compensation and set of benefits. Company isn’t ready for the transformation required.
