good people, high energy environment that fosters good work. frequent opportunities and chances for international transfers which is fantastic as well

Cons

travel can get a little tiring after a while. there is not enough opportunity for a private life. also, the review system can be opaque sometimes.

Pros

- Great people, little ego, lots of generosity. - Very interesting work, we work on our client's most important issues - Lots of variety, I've been deep into strategy, M&A, operations and org development across a broad set of industries. - Robust professional development, hard to imagine a company investing more time and effort into training and feedback. - Very fair comensation, no complaints. - Progressive approach to work life balance. Lots of options, lots of flexibility.

Cons

In my 5 years, Bain has been exactly as advertised. There have been some tough periods, but these are usually when I am being stretched past my comfort zone (a good thing). The ultimate question that every Bainee (and every consultant) faces is work life balance. Some people can make it work for a whole career, others never quite get the balancing acts.
