Not always the best place to work

Pros

The associates on your team and in the back office are friendly, fun, talented and have a great work ethic. Benefits were better than other financial firms in the Milwaukee area. Great place to learn and start a career. Provide excellent professional development opportunities

Cons

Long hours, diversity and inclusion is weak to non-existent, especially in higher paying professional positions. Too many resources spent on Forbes best places to work recognition that could be better spent finding better technology and more resources to support back office departments. Parking in downtown Milwaukee.

Status Quo Here We Go

Pros

Generous PTO and aligned with bank holidays! Flexible work schedule and competitive comp package.

Cons

Corporate resource groups seem to be stuck on a hamster wheel. Joining the org felt like I went back in time 20 years. They are slow to move and break free from status quo. Operations is paper heavy and heavy on staff. No electronic trading and broker assisted trades will cost you around $75 a pop. IT leadership is politically motivated, slow to move, lack leadership skills and don't work well as a team. Have over 30 managers for a staff of 120 to support a 2400 users....a lot if overhead! Spend a lot of time effort and money to make the Forbes best places to work list....makes you wonder how much gets paid out to be on the list.

Pros

You can learn a lot if you ask for the work. That's good and bad because you can be overwhelmed...But the opportunity to learn can be really good.

Cons

Still an "old boys" network. Get a strong male mentor to be successful. Its also a small company so opportunities for advancement may be limited.
