Pros

Clean, nice offices. Not bad pay, but lowest in higher ed.

Cons

Management is awful. President walks around to check on staff every day, yet cant remember anyone's name after 8 years of working there. Management is paid well, because lower level staff is not. Students are treated like gold, employees are not valued. College is a "right to try" college....which means any idiot can attend and that is pretty much what they are. Most drop out after one quarter, because they shouldnt even be in college. The level of intelligence is laughable within the student body. This makes doing your job difficult, because Baker will do "whatever it takes" to keep students. If the office is closed and they are pounding at the door, because they cant tell time, Baker will always let them in and disregard an employees schedule. The new cao is ice cold and cares about advancement, but not her staff. Hours are brutal and there are mandatory work weeks/days we must work, which leaves little time to take the pto they offer. Management doesnt listen to ideas on how to make the office flow smoothly, they just care about the numbers and the $. Many employees leave, high turnover rate.

Not really that good.

Pros

Probably a good place to start your career in the higher education business. You'll teach a couple of classes, then move on.

Cons

Students are not very motivated. As an "open-admissions" school, you tend to get folks who are just filing space in their classrooms. The same could be said online as well. Pay is among the lowest I've seen for faculty. The administration tends to treat students as customers. Not sure where they get their high job placement rates.

Pros

Definitely the students. Most students are eager to learn as they prepare for their careers.

Cons

The low pay and significant teaching load requirement for program directors made it difficult to stay motivated. "Butts in seats" culture.
