      The people (staff, faculty, students), the professional atmosphere, the supportive management staff.

      Changes that need to be made tend to take a long time to happen.

      If you absolutely must work in Michigan this might not be too bad.

      Pros

      It is mostly a recession resistant industry. As unemployment increases, enrollment tends to increase. Many of the students really want to succeed and that is nice feedback. It is the Lake Woebegone of colleges, all the students are above average.

      Cons

      Unrealistic expectations forced on employees. There is absolutely no serious attention paid to "underlings" and certainly no respect for their feelings or needs. This place will do its best to drag in anyone even if they can't "fog a mirror" which unfortunately leaves the instructors holding the bag when it comes to getting someone through the basics of a topic while the rest of the class is throughly frustrated with all the time spent with the bottom 20%.
