Pros

Large size company with locations in several different states and opportunities exist to transfer between hospitals. My experience is limited to the Phoenix metro area but I would like to say we have modern facilities with quality equipment to do our jobs.

Cons

Micromanagement can be a problem when 3 or 4 different managers have to talk to you about the same issue. Recently management has came up with "cost cutting measures" that are supposed to "guide the company through the country's economic downturn." The vast majority of these are cutting or eliminating employee benefits. Examples include cutting tuition reimbursement for employees who were not enrolled in a degree program prior to 2009, cutting how quickly employees that have been with the company more than 3 years accrue paid time off, eliminating the option of cashing out your earned paid time off, decreasing the amount of pay for short term disability, too much contracted labor (travel nurses, etc.) has recently become a problem when the regular staff members cannot even work their full time hours and have to use paid time off to receive a full paycheck.

Pros

It used to be the people until the corporation took over. The medical plan is expensive but it's great coverage. They have an onsite gym and cafe. They have an onsite coffee shop that sells gourmet coffee. The facilities are well kept and constantly being updated which is typical in hospitals.

Cons

In Greeley it's all about who you know, not what you know. There are some real bad directors that should be removed. The pay grades aren't consistent across the regions. People in AZ are promoted and paid a lot more. The Greeley IT Directors make up role summaries to fit their friends. They set the bar very high and require nice to have qualifications. The AZ IT staff gets praised and promoted for jobs well done not for passing a Microsoft test.

Pros

flexible schedule, good coworkers, pto, benefits

Cons

turnover increasing because of declining culture. all about the budget and they have forgotten that if you treat your employee as #1, your employees will pass that down to the patients. corporate has NO idea what is needed on the floor , there is a huge disconnect between upper management and floor staff. Banner used to be the place to work but over the past 5 years they have lost that reputation amongst nursing staff. Nursing education has been weeded out. Very corporate now, feels like a for profit environment.
