Pros

In general people are nice, vacation time is very good, sense of community. Was much better with former President. Could be a spectacular place if they could get a heart AND be effective.

Cons

People in charge, in general have no clue on how to run a university. Promotions are based on who you know. Often inept people are hired because the supervisor does not want competition so they hire the less skilled person. So called "nationwide" searches are not really done. They will often only interview the person they have chosen without really looking. Upper management needs to take some courses on how to run a university. PhD's are often the worst business people/managers. very chaotic; constant change and brutal behavior do not equal improvement just the appearance that something is happening. no one is buying the Charade. It's a shame because it could be a really good place. HR is useless, tool of those in charge to perpetuate their power.

Pros

- I've learned how not to run a business. - I've learned that if possible, its best to suss out an individual's security with him or herself and also their level of intelligence before you hire or work with said individual.

Cons

- If someone feels threatened by you, your chances of advancement are nonexistent and you better find armor for your back because the knife is coming sooner rather than later. - The corporate culture is one that looks down upon part time employees, treats them as spare, unimportant parts. - An inept senior management incapable of dealing with a shifting educational landscape, including a continuous decline in student enrollment and retention. Thus, there are major cutbacks, restructuring, no raises in years, and job cuts.
