Pros
From the moment I first stepped into Barry-Wehmiller Design Group as an entry-level engineer, I have been nothing but supported, respected, and allowed to flourish. There are so many factors that make this a great place to work, but the best of them all is the supportive culture and the people. My manager is excellent and gives me plenty of opportunities to learn new things and contribute in a meaningful way to a variety of projects. Everyone here is treated like an adult, not micromanaged, and allowed to use their talents to complete work. I have learned a variety of new skills here that will help me for the rest of my career. The office is nice and has ample equipment, which helps us do our job more efficiently. We have the ability to WFH a few days a week, and I am able to WFH for a week during the holidays to go visit my family, which is great. We are also given the flexibility to come and go as needed for personal emergencies. All of my coworkers are welcoming, nice, and highly competent and respectful professionals. The environment here is so positive that I am happy to come to work and leave the office at the end of the day feeling fulfilled. This place truly lives up to Bob Chapman's saying "We measure our success by how we touch the lives of people". We are paid very fairly here and treated with a ton of respect. The company also offers generous PTO and 401K matching as well as health, life, and short-term disability insurance. I would recommend this workplace without reservation to anyone; it is a great place to work.
Cons
The health insurance for this company could be better.
