Pros
Great opportunity to thoroughly learn/refine knowledge in the ad tech space. A lot of incredibly smart colleagues. Overall decent benefits (except expensive health insurance) and unlimited PTO. Finally had Summer half day Fridays in 2022. 16 weeks 100% paid maternity leave. Marketing and the MIT team are amazing at creating a lot of relevant content - white papers, blogs, podcasts, one-sheeters, customized presentation, industry trend webinars, etc.
Cons
An extremely political company. If you're not left leaning you are on the wrong side of the spectrum. Very much a "we're extremely inclusive and respectful organization, however you must believe and feel how we do." You can't go a week without some sort of politically correct, societal opinion being discussed. After speaking with numerous recruiters I learned I was significantly underpaid. I asked for a raise every review for 4+ years and never received one even though I was hitting goal YoY and a top performer. Was told that other people received raises because they needed it more than me. Company operates with an "analysis paralysis" mentality. If there is a number to scrutinize, they do. Too often there seems to be an abundance of favoritism that trumps logical business decisions. IE with hiring, accounts you can/cannot call on, etc. In regards to the technology itself, Basis platform was essentially not touched/improved upon for over a year. They were extremely late to the game to implement programmatic guarantee and to this day still do not have DOOH in their DSP. The platform itself visually looks archaic and is clunky to navigate. Being that Basis is a media automation platform, and not just a DSP, it is a blessing and a curse. There are A LOT of internal teams and very siloed. Makes it hard to navigate internally and get things done.
