Pros

* People in leadership roles are genuinely decent people trying to do their best and create a collegial and respectful work environment, by "doing the right thing" * The company (from top down) places importance on family and lives of employees and makes it possible for employees to tend to "when life happens" * Focuses on whether the job is getting done well rather than face time and other superficial considerations.

Cons

* Sometimes people who should be let go are not and people who should be incentivized to stay are not. * Leadership isn't very diverse. * Company culture places premium on people who are "technical"

Pros

- A gold example for how company culture ought to be - People are great - New office is awesome, (stocked drinks, full kitchen, sit/stand desks, rotatable monitors, green wall, open concept, gym/shower, and all toilets are bidets) - Choose to work in office or from home [or anywhere in the world as long as you can reliably attend meetings and work asynchronously] on a daily basis - Strong hybrid (WFM/in-office) company - Decent benefits esp. considering for a intern/co-op - Positive reinforcement and your work is recognized, with plenty of opportunities to present/demo it

Cons

I really have little negative to say. I'm tempted to say something like if you want a job that's really going to test your limits then maybe this one isn't for you, but that really doesn't make sense, because there's always work to be done, so you could just take on more work/responsibility if you please. All I really could say is if you find software engineering X NLP terribly boring then you'd probably find the job terribly boring It's currently a relatively small company, so it doesn't really make sense to say it isn't diverse - if there was 1000s of employees and the diversity breakdown was the same then maybe there'd be something to say, plus they're looking for engineers / people with degrees along the lines of CS or computational linguistics, so in the group of people they're looking to onboard from - that group itself isn't diverse (representative of the country), so my point is it's not a simple matter to be diverse, just given the current state of things. Sorry if this this the wrong place for that info, there's no general review box.
