      Pros

      Good discounts. Most people are easy and fun to work with. Depending on the department, there is a strong team mentality. Some of the department managers are AWESOME and treat you like a family member; this makes for a great work atmosphere.

      Cons

      At my store, when there is an employee incentive program, the store manager changes the prize AFTER the contest is over! Poor pay, benefits and opportunities to address employee concerns.

      Pros

      A majority of your coworkers are great people. There is always something going on with the free activities and seminars they offer. You can find anything you want or need with all the merchandise Bass Pro Shops carries.

      Cons

      It's retail work, never a set schedule and some customers are very tough to handle. The inventory and computer systems are pathetically outdated. Upper management is short sighted and out of touch with the rest of the store associates.

      Pros

      An opportunity for the outdoorsman to work in the biz and get a great discount to boot. A big company with lots of structure; the major employer in a small city where they are the biggest fish in the pond, with a legendary reputation throughout the national marketplace.

      Cons

      Pay and benefits are woefully subpar, especially considering the company's size and profitability. No training offered for many positions. There's a bit of an "old boys network" with lots of empirism, so you'll need to tread lightly at times.
