      great internship experience

      Pros

      Atmosphere was fantastic, supervisors were even better. Everyone was very engaged with the interns and loved answering questions if I had anything I needed to bring up.

      Cons

      Work was sometimes a bit slow as an intern, but everything else I did was fun and real intensive. And maybe once or twice, I did some "intern" work, such as filling or emptying a database. Nothing to really detract from the whole experience.

      Pros

      Opportunity to work on tough challenges with some brilliant peers. Drive to stay sharp technically. Finally diversifying. Lots of internal research grants for people with defensible value propositions. Dim prospects for those who choose to complain about, and wait for, management to illuminate their daily paths.

      Cons

      $3B+ in revenue begets bureaucracy even after streamlining. Serving govt constrains riskier ventures. Arrogant confidence is our greatest strength and weakness.

      Pros

      Battelle has a long history of innovation and solving some of the world's most difficult scientific challenges. I find the strong sense of mission both empowering and refreshing. Battelle's strength will always be its depth of very smart people who are willing to work together to achieve the impossible. There is something to be proud of in the work we do at Battelle, and I count myself lucky to be a part of its future.

      Cons

      Most of the buildings are outdated and the interiors could use a face lift. The complex is pretty large and not very easy for new employees to navigate. There is a fitness center on-site, but it needs to be remodeled to be compete. The person that currently leads the fitness program is pretty outstanding, so that does make a difference.
