      From pretty good to very bad

      Pros

      Technically interesting work with a good degree of autonomy.

      Cons

      As others have posted on this site, Battelle has become just another money grubbing company (don't let the 'non-profit' tag fool you) wherein upper management are acquiring more yachts, cars, and vacation houses at the expense of the workers. Our vacation days, medical benefits, incentive bonuses, and pensions have all been eliminated or drastically reduced. Battelle does not allow personnel on gov't travel to recoup all of their Federal per diem (as per Federal policy) as ALL other Federal contractors do. Then, there are the firings and lay-offs. At my office, there have been about 15 out of a total staff of 40 or so. Jeff Wadsworth has insituted a culture of fear and intimidation. Just a guidline or policy infraction can get you fired these days. Battelle has gone from first to worst on my resume.

      Pros

      Competitive salaries, great benefits, excellent communication, many opportunities for personal growth and professional advancement if you are willing to move periodically. Leadership and Management frequently seeks input from all levels on internal process improvements, future business plans, and quality of life issues. Company gives performance awards and annual bonuses.

      Cons

      Not enough career opportunities in my business unit within my specific geographical area.
