Battelle reviews

The senior leadership is awful. Battelle has been good to me overall, however the current leadership is inept at best. The current CFO is trying to homogenize roles to the point where individual talent and ability doesn't matter...he seems to want to make everything a push button process. He came from a lawncare company and thinks that everyone is just some dude who spreads grass seed or fertilizer on your lawn; he doesn't seem to realize that in non-commodity companies, government contractors and specifically a R&D companies specifically, the talent of the people are the value proposition. He's actually called my boss by the wrong name on a few occasions in public forums; so embarrassing for my boss given that's he's great and highly thought of across the organization. Scientists have a great opportunity here, but if you work in the business support or finance side run for your life!

They only seem to hire young. The layoff the older staff. I was told by my supervisor that I was only hired because they thought that my being older would claim the younger staff down some. I was the only worker in the group that was older than 40. And when I hurt my wrist the supervisor then told me that they would have to lay me off and they did. Management needs to wake up and pay attention.
