      Pros

      Creative scientific professionals Personable product line support staff Good city to raise a family Very interesting projects for wonderfully challenging customers

      Cons

      Management offers hope with well thought out five year plans for new technology development. Management squashes hope by abandoning five-year plans after two to three labs in favor of new hoped for opportunities that will come to fruition faster.

      Pros

      Battelle is the most ethical company that I've ever worked for, and I was always proud to call myself a Battelle employee.

      Cons

      Battelle does contract work for other companies, so your employment is dependent on Battelle's success in winning and keeping those contracts. I left Battelle when it lost the contract for the government project that I worked for. (Battelle would have found another Battelle job for me, but I couldn't move to another state at that time.)

      Battelle possesses unparalleled depth and breadth of science and technology. Battelle is very skilled at integrating science and technology that results in innovative technology and product solutions for its clients.

      Cons

      Battelle is not market facing, with a few exceptions. As a result, Battelle's knowledge of the markets it serves is somewhat limited. This limited understanding presents significant management challenges. On the financial side, as a 501(c)(3), Battelle cannot offer equity compensation.
