A promising start but just another dead end
Pros
I started working here when I was 22. It's full time and comes with all the usual benefits. Not a bad place to work if you don't mind being pulled in different directions constantly. Makes for a good stepping stone to something better. It's only retail after all.
Cons
No recognition or reward for hard work. Management will make you feel like you are lucky to even be employed. I had to fix other people's mistakes on a daily basis which made my sales suffer and gave me constant depression because it was the norm. I did this because I cared for the staff and our customers, and I wasn't even getting paid to do it. None of that seemed to matter to the leadership however. Every day I helped the store manager directly with his duties and received nothing in return. Growth and prosperity were promised but never came to fruition. In the end I was let go for venting my frustration with the company. There is a severe lack of effort to grow the company from within. The only employees that make a decent living are the ownership and office staff. Store employees have become disposable (maybe they always were). The business has turned into a glorified gas station or a watered down radio shack.
