Pros
Back when I worked at Baxter, I kept hearing from other colleagues who had kept in touch with their former colleagues, that companies liked hiring people from Baxter because they were very well trained. I can attest to this - it's like being baptized in fire, and yes, that's a good thing. It trains you to be really good on the foundational level, which means you develop a good set of habits to fall back on at any job.
Cons
At the same time, being baptized by fire/learning at the foundational level means the systems aren't at the level you would want to be at. There is significant investment needed to bring the systems up to par.
