Pros

There are some nice, trustworthy people. Casual dress code.

Cons

Where do I begin? (1) Supervisors, who have never done your job, will determine your quota (they have no idea how long it takes to do the job). (2) Management pushes for QUANTITY over QUALITY. (3) Don't like your boss? No worries. Give it a year, you'll get a new one (high turnover rate). (4) Backstabbing (5) Favoritism (6) The CEO is cutting too many jobs, making the company TOO LEAN; so the company looks great on paper, but the people that remain are suffering, doing the work of more than 2 people. (7) In all my years of work experience, I've never had to deal with a more inept I.T. department. Dealing with the overseas helpdesk is beyond frustrating. (8) Career development is a joke. (9) Promotions are a joke (again, all favoritism). (10) Kiss your work/life balance goodbye.

Pros

Working at Baxter had the benefit of a work life balance. It was an established company that moved at a slow pace.

Cons

The culture was bureaucratic. Employees were generally complacent and resistant to change. The salaries were generally lower than at neighboring Amgen and it took a lot to get either fired or promoted so motivated erred to low.
