Pros

I have been working as a Software Engineer at this healthcare company for some time now, and my experience has been largely positive. The company is truly committed to improving healthcare through innovative technology, and it’s rewarding to contribute to projects that make a real difference in people's lives. Leadership is approachable and transparent, fostering an open culture where feedback is valued. The team is diverse and motivated, which creates an inspiring workplace. There are good opportunities to work on challenging and impactful projects, and the company encourages work-life balance. Benefits and compensation are competitive within the industry, reflecting the company’s commitment to its employees. Overall, I am proud to be part of an organization that is at the forefront of healthcare technology, and I look forward to continuing to grow here.

Cons

Sometimes, work flexibility is an issue.

Failed company

Pros

Hard working lower level employees.

Cons

I worked for Baxter many years. The previous CEO and board of directors have essentially destroyed the company. Our group has never worked so much, only to see our efforts being wasted by upper management. This management failed to innovate, failed to protect the current portfolio and managed in achieving not a single successful acquisition. Parts of the business have been sold, only to pay down debt for failed acquisitions. Despite the consistent blunders, management still think it is appropriate to act arrogant, applaud their own efforts and reward themselves with large bonuses for a job well done. This is exemplified by our former CEO, Joe Almeida; flying the corporate jet, inflated pay, bragging about his watch collection, his >1 Million Marriott points, etc. Although no longer at the company, he is still being paid as an advisor. This is simply incomprehensible.

Pros

The benefits are good. The leadership in the product areas is good.

Cons

Senior management across finance, supply chain and IT are really bad. They have no clue and only work with a short-term vision. Employee morale is pretty low.
