They do not explain their PTO benefits at all before you start and the policy is very vague. They make you think you are getting a lot of PTO throughout the year, but fail to tell you that holidays are included in your PTO hours. Most (if not all others besides BayCare) separate holidays from PTO time. Also, you have to utilize their healthcare professionals under their medical benefits, so forget going to the doctor of your choice as it would be out of network if not associated with BayCare. And the company makes a lot of money for being a non-profit, yet they are not on par with salaries with the market place.

Inadequate Time for Serious Illness or Bereavement: A combined PTO system does not provide enough time off for extended illnesses or prolonged bereavement. Employees feel pressured to return to work before they are fully recovered or have adequately grieved, impacting their health and well-being
