Pros
Company benefits and vacation time.
Cons
Poor outlook, Poor employee management, Limited transparency, Terrible career avenue for an ambitious professional with drive. I thought my move to Bechtel was going to be the best decision for my career, but was mistaken. Although I hear many of the project teams have left or been laid off, the offices at Reston were nice, but that is probably all that is positive. If you are familiar gov't work, you are familiar with Bechtel's operations. If you are driven, ambitious and have big plans for your career, this is not the place for you. However, if you just want any job with benefits, a desk, and time throughout the day to work at your leisure and spend time on personal activities as well, this is the place. They do a poor job of leveraging the right employees for the job tasks and as a result, lose the best people. Everyone is fighting for the top managerial roles, so plan on office politics, which personally was a game I wasn't interested in playing (I prefer to depend on my work ethic, skills, and communicating my goals in the organization). Fun fact: a coworker that I knew fairly well was hired onto a project and for 3 months and did a total of ~4 hours of work (not kidding). All of his time was spent on his cell phone on adult sites.
