Pros

They have a generous vacation policy.

Cons

They are completely incompetent at preforming their duties. HR represententives for certain departments have no knowledge of that department’s job descriptions. As a result, they are always giving wrong directions and “advice” that just makes a mess of everything, especially for Sales and R&D.

Thank you for your review, we always appreciate our team members responding. We are happy to hear that our vacation policy is generous in our team members eyes. Our enhanced vacation accruals and holiday schedule for 2019 will be an additional benefit that we hope will allow for more work/life balance. We are sorry to hear that you have received inaccurate information from our team. We will share your feedback with the leadership team to ensure we are able to provide team members with the correct information. Pros

Pay is great. Job is fairly easy. Benefits are good. HR is nice.

Cons

In-store reps have unrealistic goals. Paid on commission but have very little impact on that overall sales number. Your yearly budget (quota) number is set for you by your manager. Reps that are liked well by Their manager receive lower budget increases which makes hitting your goal easier (which leads to you making more money.). Car allowance for driving our personal vehicles is based on Motus. We have a fixed monthly amount given to us tax free. And a few cents per mile. We do have access to a company paid gas card. the fixed rate is extremely low. If you drive a lot for work, your car will be dead before it is paid off. Recently switched from Salary-exempt to Hourly- non exempt status. This resulted from a switch in job duties that at one time was very entrepreneurial to one that is now very “worker-bee” following directions given to you. Any independence that we once had has been greatly reduced. We have a scheduling app that must be used that is overseen by your sales manager. We are required to be inside a Home Depot for 40 hours a week. The goal is for the sales team to be one. but there are a lot of differences among the sales team. Three different types of sales reps all call on the Home Depot. “Hub Store reps” are assigned 40 hrs per week to one particular store. They are paid hourly and are essentially Home depot employees mixing paint and servicing the pro customer. “In-store reps” travel to 5 Home Depot locations each week. Salary + commission. Some merchandising expectations as well as training goals. Now also responsible for maintaining a small collection of managed accounts using salesforce.com. “Outside Pro Reps” are responsible for hundreds of accounts (painters, apartment owners, builders, etc) that shop at Home Depot. They are usually based regionally or city-wide. They are salary-exempt employees that also receive commission. The communication among these three types of sales reps are mediocre at best. We need to work together, but in reality are working against each other. All because we need to log “activities” in Salesforce.

Thank you for your review, hearing from our team members allows us to try and resolve concerns. This year our Sales Team has experienced a large amount of change. Moving the instore team to a non-exemption status we hope will be a positive transition for all. It allows us to pay our team members overtime when they are working outside of normal business hours. Our goal for all our team members is to have a work-life balance. This year’s re-org of the sales team was done to create better alignment within the regions, our goal for 2019 is that we see a strong sales organization and that no one feels a division between the teams. We appreciate you providing feedback on the sales goals set by the management team. We have shared your concerns with the executive leaders. Our goal at Behr Paint is to always be better than we were previously, and your review will help us with our goal.”
