Pros

Used to be good pay. once was a decent place to work.

Cons

This company has entered such a steep decline one has to wonder if it's on purpose. the company gave a bonus because morale was plummeting, 14 months later they cancel it what message does that send? If layoff's every three months were not bad enough how about forced transfers to lower paying jobs within the plant? feel like you have a say in anything here; you don't. Its do as I say or be punished. Amarillo used to be the pride of Bell and we did good things because they were right. we busted our tails because we liked the place, now it honestly feels like they are trying to run the place into the ground, the only question is why? one thing is for sure, even though 99% of the employees here despise the union; its almost needed nowadays given the rampant abuse of employees. Life outside of work is obsolete, in most areas first shift is a non option as the backlog of employees trying to make it there is long. without seniority time its safe to assume you will never make it to firsts. oh did I mention that the company refuses to acknowledge real safety concerns like eye wash stations but yet feels a regular baseball cap is sufficient head protection. let that be an example of the rampant stupidity that flows within this company. bottom dollar isn't even the driving force of this company; pride is, and not in a good way but instead an ego driven, better than the you mentality that sacrifices its workers morale so that upper management doesn't have to make the difficult decisions.

Pros

Enjoyed the work that I had, and I really enjoyed the coworkers that were on my team. The work was challenging and truly gave me some great experience that I am thankful for.

Cons

However, in my time at my position, I felt my manager was biased towards my gender. During my tenure, another person of the same gender was never hired on the same team. I left due to a lack of respect that I received, the erroneous lies that were created, and the distaste and hatred I had. I was often the first to show up, last to leave, well received by my peers and other departs I worked with, and was still unappreciated by management. To go along with that, Bell Helicopter is cutting jobs and slashing pay. They will hand out hundreds of thousands - if not over $1,000,000 - a few days after they lay off 400 employees. This is a classless, tasteless company that is going in the wrong direction. This same feeling is shared between union and non-union employees, who usually can't agree on anything. If you love corporate red tape and managers who don't appreciate hard work yet continue to advance their degree, you will fit right in.

Thank you for your feedback. Over the past several years we have been able to accomplish some great things together and we will do that again. While these next few years will be challenging, we have a tremendous opportunity in front of us to bring three major development programs to market – something that is unheard of in our industry, yet together we are doing it. We are executing to our schedules and are making tremendous progress on each of these programs.

Pros

Great work when there is work. Compensation and benefits were good for me. Had a good investment plan when I was there. You may get paid straight time for OT.

Cons

Compensation is wide ranging for the same job title. There is a lot of overlap with second, third, and fourth level engineers. Tons of layoffs. You may be expected to work 44+ with no straight time OT pay.....getting paid for OT is hit and miss. I'm still not sure how engineers are expected to work 4 hours of casual OT, but if your time card is 6 minutes short it has to be covered with either sick leave or vacation.....although you are supposed to be salary.
