Pros

Fast paced and high energy required, fun to work with customers, keep up with beauty industry, good commission and product allocation

Cons

Unrealistic targets, traffic stopping desperately for customers, have to scrutinise and manage out your team if their targets are not hit, roleplay on eachother to practice and they take on 16yr olds so is degrading for experienced salespeople

Toxic Company

Pros

Gratis (but only on Benefit products and not even all SKUs)

Cons

Benefit is such a toxic company. There is extremely slow growth and there is no rhyme or reason to how get promoted. Leaders and managers play favorites - if you’re not a favorite then good luck getting promoted. There are a lot of managers that shouldn’t be managing. My manager was a micro manager and it felt like she never trusted me or wanted me to succeed. She wasn’t a leader and never made me feel comfortable going to her for help or guidance. This is the same sentiment I heard from other employees at my level with their managers. They also randomly allow some employees to be remote and not others (again, no rhyme or reason. The work environment feels like high school where it’s really cliquey and lots of gossip. If that doesn’t convince you not to work here, then the pay will. The pay is extremely low especially if you’re working in San Francisco (one of the most expensive cities to live in in the world). Benefits are also the bare minimum and don’t expect large bonuses.
