Pros

Monthly Clinics- Designer reps will present their fashion/accessory line-ups for upcoming seasons. Nice to see products that most MA's can never afford.

Cons

Salary- $18-$19 per hour. The MA's are all college graduates, in many cases from good schools, tasked with entering data into spread sheets and dealing with leadership that demonstrates a significant lack of professionalism and management skills. Point of reference- Bank of America has publicized that they will start paying Tellers $20 an hour in NYC starting in 2020. Vacation- You get 5 Vacation days a year and a couple of sick days. Yes- Only 5 vacation days a year. Bank Tellers get 2 weeks when they start. Culture- Horrible. MA's are considered to be disposable and are treated accordingly. Hours are 9AM-6PM, and you are required to clock out for a 1 hour lunch. Problem is most of the MA's work during their lunch hour but don't get paid for it. God help you if you exceed weekly hours. There is no coaching, performance reviews or formal learning at BG. You are dumped into a position and pretty much left to sink or swim on your own. Many of the AB's and Buyers are really good people to work with, but have no ability to teach because they are trying to survive. They try to maneuver through a dysfunctional structure that have no communication or leadership skills. A recent re-org exemplifies the problem. People were moved around, and assigned new departments, WITHOUT A TRANSITION PLAN. Morale is horrible and will not improve. Career development- There is none. This is an entry level job and you will learn the many ways to not do something and treat co-workers. Nothing like being an MA and be ignored pretty much the entire day. There is no camaraderie, no team work and people exist in their own little worlds.
