Toxic work environment

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Terrible work culture and don’t waste your time

Cons

Toxic work environment driven by deeply embedded political infighting. The management culture is highly unprofessional; senior attorneys and partners struggle with emotional regulation, routinely engage in trash-talking, and create an incredibly hostile day-to-day experience for junior staff.

Pros

Some good hard working peers but other than not much.

Cons

Insanely high and unsustainable work load while not proving the tool, resources and aid to be successful. Which is eventually setting up most people to fail. Severe staffing issues. People leaving every week and not being replaced for months or not being replaced at all. Leading to increased workload and no coverage. Ability to succeed is dependent on what manager, team and managing partner you are assigned to. Specifically your assigned attorney. You will not receive any useful training by the firm to do your job correctly. If your team does not have the proper training and experienced members you will be set up to fail. You will also be thrown under the bus for any mistake you make. Legal Teams are usually fractured and split into different locations causing inefficient communication and issues in preparing and filing cases due to logistics issues like being assigned a manager in different office. Not having coverage while out office to prepare and file cases for you. Promotions have basically been removed and all salary increments are now based on “performance “ which is at the discretion of your manager. It is now basically impossible to be moved into a senior role without taking on an increased workload and additional responsibilities while also needing for you partner to like you. Overly demanding awful clients and customers on top of poor and inefficient management make for an honestly awful work environment. I find myself exhausted every day while having to elevate my work more and more every quarter to stay afloat of the unbearable workload and stringent metrics in fear of being threatened and put on a pip.
