Pros

The discount is one of the main reasons I stick around when I really start to get sick of it. Occasionally, customers are so ridiculous that it just makes your day. My co-workers are pretty cool for the most part and we like to joke around and have fun while making sure customers are taken care of.

Cons

Management is able to get away with way too much. It's no wonder the company is restructuring when Supervisors and Managers walk around the store on their phones all day. Most of the time, issues that you have that aren't HR related are ignored.

Pros

Best Buy can be a fun job where you can make many new friends and meet a lot of new people. Best Buy is a place you will enjoy if you are outgoing and are a hard worker. Most Best Buy stores are like families and many people hang out and do things outside of work together. My personal best benefits to working at Best Buy are the pay rate (was the pay rate I should say) and the new friends I have made. Oh, and did I mention the awesome discount?

Cons

The biggest downside now of working at Best Buy is that they have shown how they truly feel about their employees. They see us all as one big expense... The latest restructure was supposed to make more "customer facing" employees, I would love to know how cutting my pay is doing that? The only thing it has done for me is demoralize me to the point that I do not want to do anything except the bare minimum to not get yelled at. They have cut pay and cut many managers lately... They are combining roles and adding workloads to many for the same and sometimes less pay. All the following is stuff that has always sucked about Best Buy: The cons to working at Best Buy are that you can get stuck in a part-time job or a very low paying position for a very long time. There are people who make less money then me and have worked there twice as long. Best Buy is big on accountability and you have to do a lot of unnecessary paper work and you are forced to push expensive services. Management can be your best friend or worst enemy, and yes favoritism plays a big part in that. If you are full-time you can be horribly screwed by extremely long days and long work weeks, sometimes up to 7 days a week. Best Buy is always starting new directives and plans many of which fail or are rolled out very poorly and this can be very frustrating at the store level. Overall though Best Buy is probably still the best retail job there is out there.
