Cons

Pros

First, they make you feel right at home when you work at best buy. The feeling of working at best buy is similar to having a second family and or being in high school again. I would say 80% of the employees are under 30 so it's a real youthful environment. The screening of employees is pretty thorough so most of the people who work there aren't random scumbags compared to a place like macy's. All that aside, the discount is what gets you to stay. Items with extremely high markup for its kinda like cables and batteries get discount to close to nothing.

Cons

I can't take a job that is always monitoring your every move. At best buy there's always a camera above you and management thinks everyone is stealing. Whether or not the camera's actually work and or is being screened is a totally different topic, but just having all these camera's above you just isn't comfortable for a workplace. I also noticed management will promote, i shouldn't say promote because a promotion at best buy is just department switching, people whom they favor totally unrelated to skill. Getting 'promoted' at best buy is just going from department to department. If you wasted your time at best buy for 3 years bouncing around in different departments, and you finally quit and get another job, too bad because 3 years at best buy at one department is weighted the same as 3 years at best buy in 20 departments, its all the same.
