Pros

Best Buy tries to be the most fun place to work for, but the division I worked for had difficulty making that the case. I believe that the rest of the company is very fun, compensates their employees very well, is flexible and professional environment.

Cons

The division I worked for, Best Buy for Business/Best Buy for Government, was very disorganized and treated terribly. Its very frustrating to be a "worker bee" and get blamed for the lack of direction from our director, operations or direct supervisor. It made for a frustrating work environment, never meeting our goals and being told we were failures.

Pros

Working at best buy can be defining. People actually get excited when they hear you work at best buy. You are also working around the latest and greatest technology, thus you get to see and experience cool new things before anyone else. Beyond that they do give a very good discount on a lot of items. Finally, people there are friendly, and once you have worked there for some time it is more like working with a family.

Cons

They pay is not all that great. If you're a great salesman and could get a job actually making comission, I would advise going in that direction if money is a concern. They do have benefits which help to offset the pay, the employee discount, their 401k plan, etc...

Pros

Once you work there for a period of time, the managers come to respect you a bit more and in turn will compensate you more fairly when it comes time for a raise. Also if you move into a more demanding role you can get increased compensation. Also the benefits of working there part time are that they are willing to work around your schedule for school. Although you don't get any PTO or benefits if you are PT. The discount is the largest benefit.

Cons

The management is typically incompetent, however, the store that I was in had decent managers. There were a few that were "relics" from the pre-commission days that had a tough time changing over to the new ideals of best buy, and were a little more difficult to get along with.
