      Run your own business, work remotely, work with local businesses

      Cons

      Not nearly the commissions they boast; expensive ad prices for even upscale areas; too much work for one person (you'll have to work all the time). EXTREMELY sales culture, full of low-educated wannabes

      -- Able to work remotely on your own schedule -- Build good connections with local community

      Cons

      -- Low paying job for amount of work -- Title of Content Coordinator does not accurately describe how you are actually writing the entire magazine -- After my publisher quit, have had two different members of their marketing team as my "publishers" and neither of them seem to know anything about journalism -- New publisher is unhelpful and does not seem to care about the success of the magazine at all -- No opportunities for advancement or more pay

      We're disappointed to hear about your experience. Our Content Coordinators enjoy flexibility and the opportunity to write for a monthly publication. Pay increases are decided by the local Publisher managing the magazine. We will take this feedback into consideration to improve the role for our Content Coordinators moving forward.
