Pros

Heading into my fourth year with Best Version Media. After many years of working for others and having no control over my lifestyle or income, making the leap to BVM was the best decision I've ever made! On track to break $200k this year but it's not all about the money. I've made incredible business connections and friendships throughout the communities my magazines go to. With solid leadership and ongoing training, I see a very long future with BVM.

Cons

Sales is HARD work. Unfortunately, many people are looking to make a quick buck without doing the activity and work that it requires. This opportunity is for highly motivated and focused people.

Pros

People, Product and Processes and a culture that allows you to be you and fosters your personal development, if you want it. I considered the top two companies in this business over two years ago. When the N2P company thought I might be a spy or, at the least, thought I was asking too many questions, to my surprise, they told me they were going in a different direction in my city. It seemed weird to me and turned me off to that company, immediately. I decided to ask the same questions to Kevin Orton, the Regional Director for BVM in the West, when I interviewed with BVM. He gladly answered them and thought they were good questions to ask. Since then I've developed 2 magazines in my town and was asked to be the Division Manager for 3 states, which I have developed, with BVM's assistance, into 15 magazines and Publishers I love helping be successful. You can't fail, if you plug into the BVM system of knowledge and people.

Cons

Managing the growth can be challenging, but that's a good thing. Its way better than managing the decline, I assure you.

Pros

You will be able to learn as you begin the process of making money in this Publisher (or sales rep) position. You will have BVM doing all the heavy-lifting of designing your magazine, mailing to homes and providing all the sales materials, with your responsibility being selling advertising sponsorships to businesses large and small in your community. This company is part of the future of print marketing.

Cons

Being disciplined and plugging into the training and process created by BVM will be the biggest adjustment, but the training and help is first class. The product, process and the highly ethical, hard working staff at BVM is there to help you succeed. I guess if you need a paycheck for a few of the first months, while building your initial ads that pay for the magazine, this wouldn't be for you. But then you can really make money.
