A Company That Finally Lives What They Talk about with an Amazing Culture

Pros

Most companies talk about a mission statement or a culture but not many actually live it. Alot of companies say that people can own their mistakes but in reality when someone does their job is usually on the line. At Best Version Media everyone is there to help some be better all the time. If you want to work with people that truly care about success then you have found the right place. However if someone wants to work in a place to hide and just make money then this is not the place. If you want to build something better for your community, for small businesses and for you and your family you have found the correct company. My worst day working here is better then my best day at every other job I have had. Finally a company that rewards hard work without having to work 80 hours a week.

Cons

The biggest challenge is getting out of your own way and actually doing the work. If someone can't put in the work and want to grow as a person and as a business person then this may not be the correct company.

The culture is top-notch. A lot of times companies say they have this great culture but then don't live it out, and BVM lives what it says. The opportunity - be in business for yourself but not by yourself.

Cons

If you are not self-motivated then this may not be the best, as you don't show up to a work-site and "punch-in-and-punch-out"

I love that BVM gave me the ability to make my own schedule and spend more time with my kids. I love that I can make as much money as I want to, all I have to do is work for it! I love the insane potential that is there for anyone to take advantage of. I have nothing but positive things to say about the support from above, from the CEO and the Canadian president to other publishers, the company culture is that of support and positivity and it is a great feeling to be part of it. Management are always available to chat, and they are great at reaching out to let you know that you are doing a great job, or to simply offer support when it is needed. In fact, the president called me today just to check in and let me know that they understand if I need to take things slower with my current pregnancy. SO supportive. I have loved getting to know the small businesses in my community. The networking is fun and if it comes naturally to you, the job will be very enjoyable. When your magazine gets published, there is a huge network of people there to help you make it fantastic. I am always amazed at what a great job the designers do, the finished product is something I can always be very proud of. This has been a great career move for me due to the flexibility, the potential for income and the supportive environment.

Cons

If you can't motivate yourself, this isn't for you.
