Pros

After recently graduating from one of the top business schools in the U.S., there was no question that I would jump at the opportunity of getting to work for Best Version Media. Out of all the opportunities that I had available, Best Version Media was by far the greatest! I chose to work here because of the quality people I'd be surrounded with each day that I'd be able to learn and grow with. What makes BVM different from any other of its kind is the sincerity of the upper management. Management is genuine! Every time the CEO walks into the office, he goes around to every single employee to say hello and ask how they are doing. I love working here because this is a company where no one, not even the hundreds of publishers, feel like just a number. Everyone is friendly and always laughing. I look forward to growing and sharing in the success that this company will continue to have!

Cons

Pros

My wife and I are surrounded by real people, with real successes and real struggles. The support afforded by Best Version Media is like nothing I've encountered before. So many organizations have a culture of negativity and blame. Best Version Media is 180 degrees different. From CEO Dave Durand right on down to district and regional managers, there is always, ALWAYS encouragement, advice and a shoulder on which to lean. This hasn't been an easy journey, but it's been infinitely rewarding. We had options when choosing a company with whom to partner, and I am 100% convinced that we made the right choice. You truly can judge this book by it's cover: what you see is what you get. Real people, helping each other design lives worth living.

Cons

No real cons, but in the interest of honesty: working income-free while struggling to create a magazine where none currently exists can be challenging... it's important to keep your eye on the prize. Likewise, it's a difficult concept to explain to some friends and family. Until you can hold a magazine in your hand and show it to them, many just don't seem to understand exactly what it is your doing. Lastly, coming home excited about adding a new sponsor to the magazine prepress only to be asked by our children: "So do you make any money on THIS one?" and having to answer, "Nope, not yet." (However, this has proven to be an incredible lesson to our children on delayed gratification. Sometimes it makes sense and cents, to go without for a season in order to reap a bountiful harvest in the future. Our magazine will be hitting mailboxes in about seven weeks and we are thrilled to begin reaping the fruits of our labor.)

Pros

You must have the desire to build your own publication in order to become a publisher with BVM. There are plenty of tools to use from the corporate office and your regional manager to help you along the way and keep you on track. You must continue to build your sales meetings each week to earn the income you never thought was possible. I attended the August training session in Milwaukee, WI and was ready to start making calls 48 hours after I arrived home. Eric did an excellent job explaining the culture, history, and tools we can use in order to be successful. My next three weeks are full with sales meetings. The possibilities are endless with BVM.

Cons

None that I can think of at this time.
