Pros

Amazing colleagues, products, leaders, and mission! This place is fast-paced (which I get isn't for everyone), but it's exhilarating for most people I know at BetterUp and me.

Cons

There are some inexperienced managers, especially new promotes. Some colleagues don't seem to understand what it takes to succeed at a fast-growing startup.

Pros

I've been with BetterUp for a few years and have am grateful for all of the opportunities I've had to learn, stretch and grow. I joined the organization because I am passionate about the mission and felt energized by the prospect of building the ship we are sailing. I love the work I'm doing today. Looking back, I am proud of how I've been able to navigate uncertainty and respond to the evolving needs of the business. I can see how everything I've done has led me to where I am and I feel valued for my strengths. In my tenure, I've had six roles and eight managers and as I look back, I'm proud of the legacy I've left behind. It's incredible to witness our growth, to see projects or temporary roles become entire teams forming to support what was one of many hats I may have been wearing in a prior role.

Cons

Work at BetterUp requires tenacity, resilience and the ability to find clarity within ambiguity. It requires a proactive, self-starter mindset and the ability to pull up from the details. In my tenure, I've had I've worked through moments where I felt super supported and others where I needed to chart a new path or advocate for myself to join a new team or shape a new role for myself. If you feel excited and energized by the flexibility to chart your own path, learn skills you might not have imagined you were capable of and build something from nothing, this is the right place for you. If this makes you uncomfortable, and you're seeking a role that's clearly defined it may not be the right fit.
