Pros

The people here are great to work with and there is always work to do so sitting around is not an option.

Cons

Senior leadership needs to worry less about suing other companies and more about being profitable. People getting promoted solely for sucking up yet being completely inept at any type of leadership.

Pros

Nice coworkers and one of the better views.

Cons

The bureaucracy is insane. You practically have to get your hands stamped everytime you lift a finger to do something. Senior management is getting better, but it feels like only a handful are qualified to run a billion dollar business. Internal supporting technology is at least 10 years behind, and there is a tendency to just pay the most expensive bidder to make a problem go away. Most of the qualified merchandising talent has left in the past year. Most businesses are run by recently promoted lower level employees trying to not screw it up too badly. Everyone is scared to death of layoffs, which happen with no rhyme or reason. Did I mention the bonus structure is nearly non-existent?

Pros

Overstock / Beyond used to be one of the gems along Silicone Slopes in terms of work culture and a place to grow your career. There are still many great IC's there that are working hard to survive. As soon as the Board allowed JJ to be removed and his successor to be installed things have gone horribly wrong.

Cons

5 rounds of layoffs in 2024 with the final one two weeks before Christmas. The entire executive team has been fired and some positions twice since the new Chairman took the reigns. Transparency, collaboration, and communication are all gone, nobody dares share their opinion. It's a one man show and the proof are in the financial results. There is no actionable business plan with the purchase of two bankrupt businesses combined with the parent headed into bankruptcy. There is no product distinction for any of the brands, customers are confused, Google's algorithms are confused, and there is no plan to fix it.
