      Pros

      I have worked at overstock for years and love the company. The new leadership team is data driven and tech centric. All the good employees we lost in the last two years are coming back because it is doing so well.

      Cons

      It's big black eye was our former President. A lot of the criticism here was legit and the company lost some great employees because of it. The new management team is very data driven. If you don't like having a number that says how well you do your job it will be hard on you.

      No Place For A Lady!

      Pros

      Lots of good people who just want to come to work and do a good job. The fun activities-based culture that many of the other reviewers wrote about is mostly gone (i.e. care day, care week, old mill day, theme days, holiday celebrations, tech socials, marketing socials, merchandising socials, etc. have become a distant memory. But we still have Overstocktober and Lagoon Day. I’m hoping they don’t fade away as well.

      Cons

      Marketing “LEADERSHIP” is a joke. The last president brought in a bunch of intuitive touchy-feely women, then the new president countered with a bigger bunch of data driven numbers crunching men… Set and match! How bout we focus less on games and more on making money? I think a well-balanced team of intuitive “PEOPLE” who actually shop online backed by sound data analysis would be best, not a data heavy group of men who don’t spend much time shopping AT ALL (particularly for Overstock products). Call me crazy but I think things just got worse around here. I know a lot of people are giddy about Stormy leaving but the company is now being managed by a bunch of mean little anemic boys suffering from premature celebration. I wish I’d never set foot in this NUT-house! I’ll be gone by the end of the year. This is NO place for a lady!

      Work atmosphere is going downhill

      Pros

      The company has built a new, iconic campus with nice amenities. The stated goal is to make Overstock a great place to work, and there are several in management who take that to heart and strive to do right by the employees. At one time this company was a great place.

      Cons

      While the departure of the former president held promise, the departure of the acting CEO was a huge loss. The new, top-level leadership of the company is in general unskilled for the task, but rather represents a cadre of weekend buddies. Their demonstrated contempt for the concept of servant leadership has quickly destroyed morale in many departments. Those underlings who take their cues from these leaders have learned to be self-serving and disrespectful to the employee base at large.
