Pros

Great place to learn for interns or if you're "green"/new to social work, great benefits = staff wellness, PTO, medical, retirement & life ins., discounts, etc. Friendly & helpful staff/supervisors, ability to grow & encouraging of continuing education. Fun staff parties ie. hikes, bbq's, Great America, etc.

Not enough training/support for new employees

Pros

Thoughtful, hard working staff are appreciated and rewarded here. There is a positive culture, friendly approachable upper management & executives. There is room for professional growth and many training opportunities. It is very nice to come to work happy pretty much every day!

Cons

A non-profit has it limitations at times, I would not necessarily call it a "con." It provides an opportunity for a person to wear many hats and learn a larger breadth of skills & responsibilities you might not get at a larger corporation.

Pros

There are employees that care, and work very hard, for little money and even less respect.

Cons

CEO, Sparky Harlan, is a TYRANT. She is passive-aggressive, rude, unprofessional and has the whole center in fear of being in the same room as her. Not the kind of leader you would expect to find at a non-profit helping children.
