Pros

Above average salary and benefits for this specific industry within the RTP area (including 401(k) and HSA). High value of the work to the pharmaceuticals and healthcare industries is rewarding because of the myriad contributions to the therapeutics development/approval process. Opportunities for growth along various career tracks (Operations, Quality Control, Quality Assurance). If given the chance, assay development is a challenging and rewarding experience for science-minded people. Experience, skills, and attitude but not necessarily degree (e.g. PhD or MBA) required for various management positions. Additional pay opportunities (e.g. time and a half, weekend stipend) for extra work within Operations. Strong Scientific Office. Strong adherence to regulations. Strong Quality Assurance department. Diversity is promoted and encouraged. Majority of senior management positions occupied by women. Numerous examples of people who have left the company for various reasons and have been rehired or have reapplied when the opportunity for which they left the company turned sour or when new opportunities were presented at BioAgilytix. Social activities throughout the year. Volunteer involvement within the local community.

Cons

Variability in actual expectations and/or performance for a given title/position between various teams within Operations. This is in part due to the various models under which teams operate as well as the different management styles within groups. Flexibility and adaptability are a must meaning the ability to work under tight timelines, get the job done, and deliver high quality data sometimes with very short notice (not necessarily a con, but not a job for people who want a relaxed workday). Company is less tight-knit since it has expanded its employee number and opened multiple sites within the RTP area (sometimes an inevitable product of growth).
