They do small department layoffs and they are secretive about it. -Many managers aren't managing anything or anybody. There are some dead bodies that could easily be replaced with ambitious and excited new employees. -Positions are created out of nowhere to please certain individuals looking for a higher title/pay. -Lots of office gossip. -Work/Life Balance? Yeah right! Expect to work nights and weekends whether you are in the labs or in an office job.

Frequent layoffs have left current employees with low morale. Management tends to keep layoffs throughout isolated departments very quiet, yet people talk and are aware that the chopping block is constantly there. Lots of corporate politics, you need to be in with the right crowd to succeed.
