      Pros

      The people are fantastic - there is a nice sense of belonging and that we are making a difference in peoples' lives.

      Cons

      Long hours - you have to put the time and effort re: the employees at all levels are highly ambitious, motivated and the pace is fast.

      Pros

      Biogen Idec is a great company that really looks out for its employees. The employees themselves are talented, inquisitive, and understand the importance of knowledge sharing. The benefits are absolutely amazing and there is a real sense of the need for work-life balance. There is a beer hour every Friday that allows employees to meet outside of work. I would recommend a career at Biogen Idec to anyone.

      Cons

      Because of the growing business, there are many new people, so it can be hard to get the background behind an issue that occurred a while before. It is also in downtown Cambridge, so commutes can be difficult.

      High quality of employees, positive working environment, and excellent benefits. Management decisions are fairly transparent and data-driven. The employees are typically great people to work with. Office politics not excessive. Contributions and productivity are recognized. Career development is fostered.

      Cons

      The work load is greater than it should be for optimal work-life balance. Thee is some inequity in title between functional areas. Strengthen core areas rather before expanding into new areas.
